About Me

I am a Finnish ski jumper born in 2007 and a product of Siilinjärven Ponnistus. I live in Siilinjärvi near Kuopio, where the Puijo hills have been a natural part of everyday life since my early years.

I am a member of the Finnish junior national team. I train at the Kuopio Sports Academy and study at Kuopio Sports High School, which allows me to smoothly combine training and studies. My weekly training load is approximately 17–20 hours and includes, in addition to ski jumping, versatile supplementary training to develop physical condition, skills, and technique. In my free time, family and friends provide an important counterbalance to a goal-oriented athletic lifestyle.

Where It All Began

My spark for ski jumping ignited at the age of six, following in my older brother’s footsteps. He jumped, and I wanted to try as well. At first, letting go of the bar was exciting and scary, but giving up was never an option. I wanted to jump – and I wanted to jump far!

The sport became a shared passion for the whole family: my older brother, younger brother, father, and I all jumped, while my mother was there cheering and taking photos. The first jumps were made at the Kuilu hills in Siilinjärvi. That’s where a journey began that still continues today, because I want to jump – and I want to jump far! 🙂

The Path to a Competitive Athlete

I train at the Kuopio Sports Academy, where the facilities and supplementary training environments support a goal-oriented daily routine. I study at Kuopio Sports High School, which enables me to combine training and education. My days consist of training sessions organized by the Sports Academy and my own club, SiiPo, as well as independent training. Development is built through routines, repetition, and long-term commitment.

A turning point in my career was the clarification of coaching and goals. My overall coaching is led by Lauri Hakola, and my personal coach is my father, Timo Thure, who brings continuity and daily support to my training. A broad support network takes care of equipment, physical maintenance, recovery, and the smooth flow of everyday life, allowing me to focus on development and international-level goals.

“Long-term work, step by step toward the top.”

Now and the Next Step

Right now, my focus is on a solid training and competition season and continuous development. The next step is to bring what I’ve learned into competitions and strengthen my position at the international level.
